Domain WHOIS lookup

Looks up registration details via RDAP (the modern, structured replacement for WHOIS, mandatory for all gTLD registries) and falls back to classic WHOIS on port 43 for registries that don't support it yet.

What is Domain WHOIS lookup?

WHOIS (and its modern replacement, RDAP) is the public registry record for a domain name — who registered it, which registrar manages it, when it was created and when it expires, and which name servers answer for it.

How to use it

Enter a domain and the tool queries RDAP first (the structured, JSON-based standard now required for all gTLD registries), falling back to classic WHOIS for older registries that don't yet support it.
